Viking Wedding Traditions
At a Viking wedding, the groom was presented ale or honey mead by his new wife in a vessel like the Swedish kåsa, known as a "loving-cup." Before drinking it, the groom consecrated the ale to Thórr by making the sign of a hammer over it, and a toast to Óðinn. He then sipped and passed the cup to his bride, who made a toast to Freyja before drinking.#LyraRadford #MyBigDayCompany
