Race Day

Race Day - Planning your wedding day on a major sporting event can have its complexities. So if you choose a Melbourne Cup theme, on the 'day that stops a nation' why not have it track-side?

An elegant and classy Australian designed gown with a hat-veil combo, complemented with fine jewellery. Select race day fashions for your bridesmaids in bright, bold pops of colour and standout head wear. Gentlemen clad in dapper suits, ladies donning race day fashions, fascinators and hats, and loads of beautiful fragrant roses.

Melbourne Cup Day flower is the yellow rose but other race day flowers include cornflowers and pink and red roses, incorporate your choice in your bouquet, boutonnieres and other decoration such as on your cake and tablescapes,

Your event styling is all about bright and vibrant colours, add a mix of horseshoe details and modern metallic accents. Create some intimate lounge areas for your guests for before and after lunch and for your themed seating areas consider labelling seating arrangements after race day winners. Have a private bar dedicated to your event and make it a statement piece with draping roses and plenty of champagne flowing and also some fruity cocktails, mint juleps and Pimms of course.

Unless you choose a twilight affair, your lunch menu should light and fresh, perhaps include delicate hors d'oeuvres and canapes of sushimi, foie gras, fruit and vegetable bites and salmon, then entrees of prawn, lobster, oysters and seasonal fruits and salad and a main of either beef or fish. A desert bar stacked with fresh fruit and chantilly cream and iconic SA chocolate. You’ll want to ensure all food is cleared by the time the race starts. After the race hit the dance floor.
